Things you need to know about TPG Internet Broadband Registeration
- Credit Card vs Direct Debit payment. Entry level Internet connection with TPG usually have requirement of payment with credit card only, while that higher connection can have an option between direct debit or credit card.
- 12 month vs 18 months contract. Customer who choose 12 Months contracts needs to pay setup cost A$59.95. Choosing 18 months contract will have a benefit of free setup.
- Free churn (transfer) to TPG ADSL2+ (from a participating ISP) on 18 month contract. Turnaround time is less than a new connection
- Free IPTV for TPG ADSL2+ Customers. TPG IPTV allows watching selected TV channels via PC or Notebook which are delivered through TPG ADSL2+ connection. It does not require the need to purchase an additional expensive set top box, and usage is not counted toward internet usage as it uses TPG own network.
- No hidden monthly charges. TPG will only charge for monthly charges. For users who over use their download limit, TPG will only shaped the broadband speed.
- Service Relocation Fee. When a customer needs to move the existing TPG ADSL2+ line and he/she is still under contract, a fee of A$175 will apply. If the contract has past its term, a customer who move the line will need to sign a new contract term.
- Cancellation Fee. When a customer needs to cancel it's contract before it is expired, a fee of either: A$350 or the sum of remaining unpaid monthly charges - whichever the lowest.
- No support for Apple Macintosh or Linux. This does not mean the customer cannont register for TPG ADSL, however TPG Tehcnical Support will be unable to assist or troubleshoot in the event of any technical difficulties.
